Best Baby Wraps Of 2021
Most baby wraps and ring slings are the same. They are long pieces of fabric. They don’t have ‘additional features’ like a hybrid carrier or structured carrier might have.
So here are a few tips for choosing your baby wrap or ring sling:
- What kind of fabric do you want? Do you want 100% cotton? What about organic? Do you want a blend that offers some stretch or cooling?
- What color or pattern do you like? Between all of the carriers listed below, you can find just about any color or pattern that you like. Believe it or not, that is how I ended up with the Moby Wrap in addition to it coming highly recommended by friends and family.
Moby Wrap Classic Baby Carrier

Mom Tip: This is the wrap that I have, and I LOVE it. The fabric is just stretchy enough to be comfortable, but not so stretchy that you lose any support. The pattern adds a bit of flair, but can still go with any type of outfit.

Best Baby Carriers Of 2021

Mom Tip: I remember being so overwhelmed when trying to find a structured baby carrier. It’s not like a baby wrap or sling that you are just shopping for fabric and color. There are so many different types of carriers, features, and such a wide range of pricing. Don’t worry mommas! I was right there with you. What helped me the most was watching the tutorial videos, which is why I built the videos right into this page for you!
Finding the best baby carrier
- Understand the types of carries. Infant carriers can have front-facing, inward-facing, back carrying, and side carrying positions. Think about what is most comfortable for you. It might be all of the years of carrying laundry baskets up and down the stairs of my apartment complex, but I could carry a baby on my hip all day every day.
- Age and weight limits. A lot of these carriers can accomodate babies through toddlerhood, but if you’re looking for something specifically for a heavier child, you should look at my list of baby carrier for toddlers.
- Research the fasteners. A carrier with tons of buckles, straps, and fasteners is not as convenient as one with fewer. If you are between two similar models, choose the one with fewer fasteners.
- Trust the brand. You want to know that the carrier isn’t going to fall apart. I have selected well-known brands that have stood the test of time… But there might be one brand that stands out to you as more reliable than the others.
- Additional features. Pockets, hoods, and adjustable seats might not seem like a big deal… until the day you are caught in the rain and have a blowout on your hands…

The shirt is made of premium fabric that is soft and stretchy for both mom and baby. The unique wrapping fabric can be tied to provide much-needed back and belly support in the later stages of pregnancy. Once the baby is born, the shirt transforms into a carrier that can easily do skin-to-skin while out and about as well as allow for hands-free nursing.
Mom Tip: This will definitely be on my shopping list for baby number 2! I wish it would have been available when I was pregnant with my first! I can get a ton of use in the first months of a baby’s life. I don’t know if it could replace the baby wrap, ring sling, or hybrid carrier altogether… I will update and let you know!

Best Baby Carrier For Petite Moms
The Ergobaby Omni 360 carrier is a favorite for petite moms.
What makes the Ergobaby Omni 360 carrier the best carrier for petite moms? It has all of the features that you would want in a baby carrier, plus it is customizable to fit any body type (yes, even tall and plus-size).
Because the Ergobaby Omni 360 is so adjustable, you won’t have to buy a second carrier for your partner, even if they are a completely different size than you!
The straps can be worn crossed or like a backpack depending on what feels the most secure to you.
The waist belt can be worn high or low on the torso which is perfect for accommodating both tall and petite moms.

Pro Tip: Petite moms might find that the best baby carrier for them is a wrap or ring sling. Wraps and ring slings not only adjust to fit your body but can be worn in so many different ways to be comfortable no matter how long or short your torso is.

Waterproof Baby Carriers For The Rain
If you will be out and about with your baby in the rain a lot, you should consider buying a rain cover for your carrier.
There are no structured carriers that are completely waterproof, but a rain cover can go over any carrier that you have and provide a water barrier for your little one.
The added benefit is that you get all of the features of your favorite carrier, plus all of the features of a waterproof jacket.

This water cover is designed to go with the Ergobaby carriers, but there are also universal covers that will fit whichever carrier you have.

The double carrier can be split into two regular carriers! The carrier easily transforms from a double carrier to two single carriers.
