Fisher-Price might be the most nostalgic brand in my house. My grandma had the Fisher-Price record player, and I remember the Little People animal sound toy from when I was a kid.
Now my own boys have played with a pile of their toys, from baby gear all the way up to preschool.
This page has every Fisher-Price toy I recommend across the site, sorted by the 11 play categories I use for our toy rotation.

Why We Like Fisher-Price
Fisher-Price was all over our baby years. We loved their portable baby chair for both of our babies, their projection mobile scored us a few extra minutes of Saturday sleep, and our Fisher-Price Soothe and Snuggle hedgehog was a lifesaver. Once the boys were on the move, the toys took over. Here’s why I keep coming back:
- Little People set for every interest. Farm, fire truck, garbage truck, school, airport, Frozen. Whatever your kid is into this month, there’s probably a set for it.
- They start early. A lot of these are 1+ or 18 months+, and they keep getting played with well into the preschool years.
- The classics are classics for a reason. Rock-a-Stack, the xylophone, the record player. These are they toys I played with as a kid, and my kids still love them.
The downsides: a lot of Fisher-Price toys talk, sing, and light up, which means batteries (and noise).

Little People Friends Together Play House (ages 1+)
Babies and toddlers both love Little People, and this house is a good place to start. It has rooms, a patio with a pool, and a working tree swing, plus buttons for the radio, lights, oven, and yes, a toilet that “flushes.”
⭐ But here’s the thing: it doesn’t have to be this set. The magic is in the little figures, so pick the setting your kid already cares about.

Fisher-Price Little People Sets for Nurturing Play
Some Little People sets are all about taking care of someone: animals on the farm, kids at school, the family at home. That’s the nurturing category, and it’s the one I think gets skipped the most.
Little People Animals Farm Playset (ages 1+)
I think it’s universal that all kids love farms. This one gets toddlers feeding and caring for the animals and pretending to be the farmer, long before they have the words for it. It also folds up, which your living room will thank you for.

School is another setting kids know well, with teachers, nurses, and friends looking out for each other. The Play for All School adds a playground (and some fine motor practice), and the smaller school is a nice pick if shelf space is tight.

Fisher-Price Musical Toys
This is the other place Fisher-Price really shines. Music toys at this age are about cause and effect, rhythm, and listening, and our musical toys guide has more ideas if you want to build a whole music shelf.
Laugh and Learn DJ Table (ages 1+)
We love this DJ set. It takes a standard kids’ piano and adds DJ features like a turntable and a recorder so they can record their own songs. Even better, it grows with them: it turns into a pull-up-to-stand table as your little one gets bigger. That’s music and gross motor in one toy.
Fisher-Price Baby & Toddler Toy Laugh & Learn DJ Table

Classic Xylophone Pull Toy (ages 18 mo+)
This one got a lot of use at our house, just in different ways. My first loved to play music on it. My second loved to walk around the house pulling it behind him. Same toy, two totally different kids, and it worked for both.

Deluxe Rockin’ Record Player Set (ages 3+)
My grandma had the original Fisher-Price record player, so this one makes me smile. It’s an updated version with new songs, but it has the same satisfying feel of putting a record on the turntable. Kids practice fine motor skills and listening at the same time, and it counts for sensory play too.
Fisher-Price Deluxe Rockin' Record Player Set
This is an updated version of the Fisher-Price Retro Record Player. It has updated songs with the same tactile feel of putting records on the turntable.

I remember having the World of Animals toy as a kid, and it’s still a great way to connect pictures with sounds. The wooden ocean instruments are a nice first set: easy to hold, and they give real sensory feedback when little hands shake and tap them.

Fisher-Price Stacking and Building Toys
My second loved anything that stacks, so this section is close to my heart. Stacking is early block play and great fine motor practice.
Wood Rock-a-Stack (ages 18 mo+)
A classic for a reason. Babies love holding and chewing on the rings long before they stack anything. Older babies get to solve the puzzle of biggest to smallest. And toddlers start using the rings for their own made-up games. It’s one of the few toys that fits almost the whole first two years.
Fisher-Price Wood Rock-a-Stack

Fisher-Price Busy Board and Close-Ended Toys
Close-ended toys have one right way to play, like a multiple-choice question instead of a word bank. Kids need both. More in our close-ended toys guide.
Wood Montessori Dressing Board (ages 3+)
This exact board didn’t exist when we bought our busy board (we had the Melissa & Doug one). Now I’d pick this one, because it has newer fasteners like Velcro, slider buckles, and cinching buttons. Zippers and snaps are real-life skills, and the clicks and buckles are satisfying in a sensory way too.
Fisher-Price Wood Montessori Dressing Board Busy Activity
Busy boards are great for learning life skills like zippers, and the sensory satisfaction of snaps and buckles.

- u200bAwarded the AMS Montessori Seal of Excellence by the American Montessori Society in 2025
Every kid loves a remote control car. You could argue it’s open-ended, but I’d call this one close-ended: there’s one way to play, and there are directions to follow. It’s made to be easy for little hands, so it’s a good first remote control car.
Fisher-Price My Easy Remote Controlled Car
Kids love remote control cars. It might be debatable if this is a close-ended toy, but I believe it is because there is only one way to play with the toy and there are instructions to follow to play with it.
- Features simple 4-way driving capabilities: forward, reverse, left & right
- Easy to use! Press one button to make the vehicle drive and turn at the same time

Fisher-Price Gross Motor Toys
Fisher-Price isn’t my first stop for climbing and riding. That’s Little Tikes (home of the Cozy Coupe!). But these two are worth knowing about, especially for indoor play in cold months.
Adventure Play Tunnel (ages 3+)
Our pop-up tunnel was great when our babies were learning to crawl (they thought it was hilarious when mommy and daddy tried to crawl through and got stuck). As the boys got older, a tunnel became a secret passageway, a bus, a magic portal, a caterpillar costume, and part of every fort. It’s one of the most open-ended gross motor toys you can own, and it folds flat.
Fisher-Price Adventure Play Tunnel
A play tunnel can be so many things (aside from a tunnel to practice crawling through) as kids get older. From a "secret passageway," to a "caterpillar costume," and even an "underground tunnel," to their fort.
- 6 FEET LONG: The durable 6 foot tunnel gives preschoolers plenty of room to crawl explore and play on their own or with friends

- PORTABLE AND LIGHTWEIGHT: Lightweight construction makes it easy to move and transport between rooms or take along to different play areas as needed
The Twist N Twirl almost didn’t make my gross motor list, because there’s not much to do besides sit and spin. I kept it because spinning works balance, coordination, and pushing and pulling muscles, and the clicking as it goes around is really satisfying for little ones.
Fisher-Price Twist N Twirl
This is a cute toy for kids to practice balancing, spinning themselves, and has a very fun clicklike feel as you go around and around.
- 360 DEGREE SPINNING FUN: Turn the easy grip handle and spin into action. This classic sit and spin toy delivers exciting 360 degree spinning for toddlers.
- ACTIVE MOVEMENT FUN: Helps toddlers build balance, coordination, and core strength through engaging, movement focused play made just for growing little ones.

At our house, Little People sets (the farm, the fire truck, and the garbage truck), the classic xylophone, and Rock-a-Stack get the most use. For older toddlers, the record player and the play tunnel last for years.
Pick the setting your kid already loves. A farm is a safe bet for most toddlers, a garbage or fire truck is great for vehicle fans, and familiar stories like Frozen help kids who are just starting pretend play. You don’t need more than one or two at a time.
The box says 1+, and that’s a good starting point. Fisher-Price labels sets like the play house for ages 1 to 5, so they stay in play through the preschool years.
This page has all 25 Fisher-Price toys we recommend across the site. You don’t need all of them. Pick one or two per category and rotate them.
