Hi, I’m Jacqui!

About Mommy Maker Teacher, LLC

Hello! I’m Jacqui, and I wear many hats: blogger, teacher, and most importantly, a mom to two wonderful little boys.

With a background in education, I am PA certified to teach French and Spanish K-12 and have taken courses in Childhood Psychology, Adolescent Psychology, and Language Acquisition.

Over the past 12 years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching students of various ages, ranging from 2 to 18 years old.

Drawing on all of my experiences from motherhood and my expertise as a teacher, Mommy Maker Teacher is a blog to support moms at every stage of their journey from trying to conceive, to pregnancy, postpartum, breastfeeding, and beyond.

In this blog you will find tons of information on the following:

For Moms

Research and Development

As a mom and educator, I understand the importance of providing trustworthy and well-researched information.

Before publishing any article on mommymakerteacher.com, I draw on my own experiences as a mother, as well as insights that have been personally shared with me by other moms.

I also rely on reputable sources such as the American Academy of Pediatrics when making recommendations.

Product Recommendations

When it comes to product recommendations, I take great care to ensure they meet my highest standards. The products and brands that I endorse are either trusted household names, items I personally use and love, or products owned by close friends and family.

Breastfeeding Support and Beyond

My commitment to helping moms extends to the challenges of breastfeeding. I understand the struggles firsthand, having worked with four different lactation consultants, pediatricians, ENTs, and even pediatric dentists in order to breastfeed my tongue-tied son.

I’ve experienced the highs and lows of exclusive and extended breastfeeding with both of my children, and I’m here to share my knowledge and experiences with you.

I am a Mom(my)

If you were to ask me who I am, the first thing I would say is that I am a mom. Despite the occasional exhaustion that comes from hearing “Mommy!” all day long, being a mom is the greatest joy of my life.

My path as a mother has been marked by both incredible joy and significant challenges.

During both of my pregnancies, I grappled with a condition called Hyperemesis Gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness. It left me unable to keep anything down, including water, resulting in the loss of over 20 pounds during each of my first trimesters. This condition led to numerous hospital visits and persisted throughout both pregnancies, though it did improve around the third trimester.

While the deliveries of my precious children went smoothly, I’ve come to realize that many moms, myself included, carry emotional scars from the intense experience of childbirth. It’s an event that, despite its beauty, can be incredibly stressful and emotionally challenging.

Today, I am the proud mother of two happy and healthy little boys. My journey with motherhood has been unique for each of them.

My firstborn has always struggled with sleep, prompting me to delve deeply into the world of baby sleep solutions. I can say with confidence that I’ve tried countless baby sleep products, from cribs and bassinets to blankets, swaddles, sleep sacks, and sound machines – all in an effort to help him sleep through the night. We’ve also navigated challenges like infant reflux and now, as he’s grown older, night terrors.

On the other hand, my second child has slept like a champion from day one. He’s my peaceful, gentle giant, born almost 10 pounds! However, his journey has been marked by health concerns, including Torticollis, tongue and lip ties, and infant reflux, as well as later struggles with severe allergies, eczema, and asthma. Despite these challenges, he remains the happiest little guy, and his resilience continues to inspire me.

Why Blogging?

My journey into the world of blogging began soon after I had my first son. I wanted to create a more flexible future for myself and my family than the 7-3 teaching position I had held for years.

I wanted to have more energy to engage with my children during the day, rather than being too tired after work.

I initially thought blogs were for fun and hobbies, but I realized that blogging could provide a viable income source while allowing me to take control of my work schedule.

I remember hesitating to tell my husband about my desire to start a blog. Putting myself out there felt daunting. Nevertheless, his unwavering support led me to purchase the domain and hosting for mommymakerteacher.com that night.

Since launching my blog in 2020, it’s been three years of dedicated effort to reach where I am today. My efforts have been marked by determination, a relentless search for information, and the use of various blogging tools–to which I credit a lot of my success.

While I initially aimed to earn $100 in a month in my first year–a goal I did achieve– my ambition now is to reach $1000 a month.

I’m proud of the progress I’ve made so far. With several hundred keywords ranking on the first page of Google and thousands of other ranking keywords related to parenting and mommy topics, my goal is to continue providing valuable content to fellow moms like you!

Thank you for joining me on this journey, and feel free to reach out with any questions or share your own experiences. I’m here to support you every step of the way!
